threesixfive, week 43

hi everyone!
i want to throw something out there really quickly before i get to pictures; i know since i took over P365 this year, there are really only 3 or 4 of us doing it consistently, and i've struggled to have anything interesting to take pictures of.
if anyone that plans to continue P365 would like to take over hosting, please let me know. i think i may take a year or two off from the everyday. if no one offers, then i'll go from there and either retire it, or continue to host and just not have pictures myself all the time.
thanks!!

ok, for this week.....

sunday
we had a youth worker meeting sunday evening, and one of the teachers had her twin boys with her. molly got to love on john.

monday
we're trying to eat mostly lean protein and veggies, especially at dinner. monday night we had grilled chicken with roasted cauliflower and brussels sprouts. i didnt know sprouts could be so yummy!

tuesday
the kids wanted to go to a park in the town just north of us. it's about a 20 minute drive, but the weather was beautiful, and they had worked hard to get their school work done. when we got there, this is what we saw....no park. it's been torn down, but a new one will be there by summertime. :-/

wednesday
just a random tree picture. i loved the way the sun was shining through it.

thursday
costume central. what's it going to be???

friday
we went to a football game friday night to support allen who was announcing it, and one of our youth on the flag team.

saturday
our church had its annual fall fest. allen had to take a turn in the dunking booth. one of the 9th grade girls got frustrated that she couldn't knock him in. she found a way around that, though.

thats it for this week!!

threesixfive, week 42

hooray for cooler temperatures!!!
we eventually got down to a crisp 42 degrees in the wee hours of the morning yesterday and today. but of course now its back up to mid-70's. still a refreshing and welcome change.
it was a gradual cooling off, though. thursday morning we went out to run some errands, in tshirts and shorts mind you, and colby said, "it feels like christmas!!!" i looked at the thermometer in my car to see that it was a brisk 58 degrees. :-/ it's sad when 58 degrees, although quite lovely, makes my son think its christmas time.

on to pictures. they're a bit boring, but at least they're here!

sunday
we had an all girls youth group sleepover up at the church sunday night (there was no school on monday). nothing like a hair train at a sleepover. :-)

monday
random picture that colby took. i'm sure its the home of some creature he spotted.

tuesday
we went halloween costume shopping, and colby found this hat. he's channeling steve martins "king tut" bit. not that he even knows who steve martin is....

wednesday
hello, old friend. i will blow the dust off of you and put you to use this week.

thursday
hopefully all of this will turn into something wonderful.

friday
it was round rock high schools homecoming weekend, and there was a parade thursday afternoon in front of the school. we went to support several of our students that were in the parade and on floats (band, gymnastics, cheerleading, drill team, football). the kids made a haul in candy; its good to know people. ;-)

saturday
this is what some of my fabric went into. its not perfect, but for a first scarf, im pleased with it.

sorry i'm getting this up later than usual. we've been SO BUSY!!!!
more craziness this week with discipleship groups, football games, fall festival on saturday followed by a rehearsal dinner for a sunday wedding that allen is doing. lots of fun stuff.
link up if you have pictures!!

threesixfive, week 41

we had a great week.
not much to lay out, so i'll get right to the pictures....AND i have one for each day and three on thursday. what?!?

sunday
the weather cooled off for, like, 5 seconds sunday morning. seriously, though, it was a beautiful day. i went out that morning to evaluate the temperature so i'd know how to dress the kids and saw steam coming off the fence posts. i guess the heat from the wood and the cool from the air caused the reaction. whatever it was, it was really neat looking.

monday
molly had her first volleyball practice. she's not on a team; its a class where she's learning the fundamentals. she'll be eligible for a team in the spring if she decides to continue.

tuesday
a warm, but not sweltering afternoon. we went to the park for a couple of hours after we finished school.

wednesday
we went out wednesday evening just to enjoy the cool again. its still pretty warm during the day but the mornings and evenings are fantastic. molly snuck this picture.

thursday
we took a field trip with some other homeschool families to one of the colorado river education centers. i was pleasantly surprised how fun and informative it was. we learned about water conservation and supply in central texas.

the kids got to do a nature search from one of the lookouts. isnt that beautiful? i love the texas hill country.

friday
i was blessed with an opportunity to go to the women of faith conference in san antonio. a friend of mine is on staff and invited me kind of last minute to come be a part of the weekend. women of faith is overhauling their approach and bringing it back to genuine worship and bible teaching from incredible godly women. my favorite was christine caine. that lady is anointed. i will be unpacking what she said for many days.

saturday
my friend michelle, who serves with WOF. love this woman of God.

i hope you had a fantastic week!! i will be at a girls' lock-in tomorrow night. mixed feelings about that one. i have a feeling i wont bounce back as quickly as i'd like to. :-/
my mom is coming monday night and staying until wednesday morning. looking forward to her visit. i havent seen her at length in probably a month.
other than that, a busy but normal week.
link up below and share your pictures! i miss y'all!!!

threesixfive, week 40

i dont have enough pictures this week. :-/ ive been struggling with finding interesting things to take pictures of. i mean, im home with my kids all day so.......you know.
anyway, heres what i did get.

monday
molly started this science experiment a few weeks ago, where plant A has received sunlight and plant B has received no sunlight; everything else (water) has been the same. its been interesting to see the results. plant A has grown 3 new leaves, and plant B has not only not grown anyhting new, but is starting to turn yellow and is getting holes in the leaves.

tuesday
we went to watch one of the youth group girls play volleyball.

thursday
i won this bible from the blog Leading and Loving It. its jud wilhites new translation. im looking forward to digging into it a little and seeing what he's done. sorry the picture is sideways.

friday
since the kids have been enjoying playing Clue so much, and are able to play games that are more than 'draw a card and move to that color', we went to target after co-op on friday and bought LIFE. we've played it probably 7 times since yesterday afternoon. they love it. and i love that candyland is no longer in our game closet. :-)

saturday
today was the 'Chalk Walk'; an event on our city where 2 blocks of our downtown area are blocked off for artists to create chalk drawings on the street. there are vendors and entertainers, and the drawings are voted on and the winners announced at the end of the day. these are a couple of my favorites. i'm hoping to maybe drive by tomorrow morning on the way to church and see them all finished before they get worn away.

our october continues to be crazy with going to see students play games, allen and i each leading a small group of high schoolers (mine on sunday night, his on monday night) and other various events.
i'll try to take more pictures this week!!!
