threesixfive, week 48

i hope everyone had a blessed thanksgiving holiday! we certainly did.
here are the pictures from our week…

sunday
this is my high school small group i've been leading on sunday nights, minus one. our last meeting was sunday; i made them dinner and we played some games. they're a great group of girls.

monday
this is what it looked like here from friday thru monday. we're grateful for the rain, but it kept us indoors for the most part.

tuesday
allen found a blow gun he got for a white elephant gift several years ago. colbys had a lot of fun playing with it.

wednesday
we went to my parents house for thanksgiving. she had gingerbread men for the kids to decorate.

thursday
allen was asked to carve the turkey. he did an excellent job!

friday
what a good-looking' family!

saturday
we came home and promptly decorated the house for christmas. i love seeing all my santas out on the mantle.

let the parties begin!!! our church is participating in the round rock rotary reindeer run (say that 5 times fast) tomorrow night; a 5K thru our city's trail of lights. we have our homeschool co-op christmas party monday night. friday night we're going to a  murder mystery christmas party (costumes are involved). no doubt one or two other things will pop up as the week progresses.
'tis the season!!

threesixfive, week 47

it's so COLD!!!! we don't have snow like some of y'all do, but it's definitely winter. i'm such a weenie.
the weather change has been messing with colbys allergies, so we're fighting "the crud" and ear infections. i think we're finally on the upswing though. even with all of that, we still had a great week…

sunday
i think i actually took this on saturday at rehearsal, but i could've just as easily taken it sunday morning. this is one of the guys that plays in our worship band…well, just his arms, really. he plays all the really cool, slightly odd instruments. he's been a great addition in the last several months since he joined us.

monday
molly had her last volleyball class, and all the girls were given a tshirt at the end. she was so proud!

tuesday
i tried a new tortilla soup recipe, and man was it good.

wednesday
i needed a turkey handprint for a thanksgiving video, so the kids helped me out. i'll post the video later today or tomorrow if i can. check back.

thursday
the ingredients for my favorite salad dressing; lemon juice, olive oil, and dijon mustard. and a pinch of salt. delicious.

friday
it was a fort kind of a day.

saturday
a friend and i went to The Market of Hope;  all the vendors sell fair trade products, most of them to rescue or support victims of human trafficking. i loved it! this tree was displayed in the center of the room. you can't see very well, but each ornament identifies a country that was represented in the market.

we stayed in out of the cold and rain today. tonight i'm making dinner for my girls' small group. tuesday evening we drive to dallas for thanksgiving!! i'll be back to post on saturday, though.
link up if you have pictures; only 5 weeks left to share!!!

threesixfive, week 46

another week has come and gone, and we're fighting off the junk around here.
i did something to my back last week, and i think because i was probably compensating on the other side, it has moved over. so i'm still hurting, just in a different spot. :-/ molly was feeling crummy the first part of the week, and then yesterday colby started hacking, and woke up wheezy this morning, so i've been slathering him with essential oils all day.
good times.
we did manage to squeeze in some shopping and a date night this week though, so there is that.
here are the pictures…

sunday
disciple now sign-ups started. this is a huge event for our youth ministry, and always very much looked forward to.

monday
i felt strep coming on. Thieves oil knocked it out by the next day. these got me thru until then. they taste awful, but they're fabulously effective.

tuesday
allen and i planned a much-needed dinner out. we ended up at a very nice restaurant in north austin, and this is what i had. holy cow. SO. YUMMY. texas peach barbecued pork tenderloin and some other stuff thats not nearly as important, but no less delicious.

wednesday
we made a trip to the outlet mall to look for something allen needed, and ended up getting a few things for molly. that girl is growing way too fast. she wanted to put one of her new outfits on when we got home. colby is photo-bombing in the back.

thursday
colbys room: enter at your own risk….

friday
allens step-dad's mom passed away this week at 101 years young. the funeral was friday, and allens brother eric flew in from canada. mom was happy to have her two boys under the same roof for a bit.

saturday
our church is celebrating its 20th anniversary tomorrow with a large outdoor (under a tent) service. my parents drove down for it, and we had worship rehearsal today to run thru everything with him and mom and one of the other former worship leaders. should be a fun time. i'm hoping to get some video.

have a great week everyone!!!!

threesixfive, week 45

i hope all of you had a great week. we had some cooler temperatures and more rain!!
i didn't get a picture sunday, but every other day is accounted for.
this is a week of molly!!

without further delay….

monday
my parents and me maw drove down from dallas to take the kids birthday shopping. allen wanted a picture of all four generations of ladies together.

tuesday
i was doing something in the kitchen and noticed colby and molly both sitting and reading quietly on the couch. this isn't uncommon, especially for colby, but its something i never tire of seeing.

wednesday
when we were done with school, i went and picked up a friend for each of the kids to come over and play for a couple of hours. this is molly and her friend sarah.

thursday
we were blessed last minute with tickets to the SYTYCD (so you think you can dance) tour that was in cedar park thursday night only. i took the girl and we had a great time. we slipped out early because it was so late and she was exhausted, but i think we only missed the last couple of dances. such talented people.

friday
happy birthday molly!!! she turned 7, and had a couple girls over for a sleepover that night.

saturday
allen had another wedding today (thats three weekends in a row!!), and i was able to talk molly into letting me fix her hair. hopefully she'll let me do it more often!

have a great week everyone!!!
link up if you have pictures to share.
i still haven't heard that anyone wants to take over P365 in 2014, so let me know if you're interested or if you have any questions.

threesixfive, week 44

SO many pictures this week!! colbys birthday was monday, and of course halloween was thursday, so there was a lot going on to take pictures of.
here they are!

sunday
allen did an absolutely beautiful wedding; possibly the best one i've ever been to. we've been meaning to get a picture of just the two of us, and we finally got one while we were all 'fixed up'.

monday
happy 9th birthday to my little man. i can't believe how the time has flown.

tuesday
the kids had a science workshop at one of the nature reserves in austin on tuesday morning. this one in particular is known for the numerous peacocks that roam the grounds. beautiful birds.

wednesday
i might've actually taken this picture on thursday, but the week has kind of jumbled together, so this is wednesdays picture regardless. this backdrop was at a pumpkin patch we visited.

thursday
we started halloween night at our pastor's house. he has an area set up every year for the neighborhood kids to come get their picture taken with 'Rovercomer', and they pass out tracks and candy.
colby was a spider and molly was his spider web
allen's shirt says "go ceiling!!" he was a ceiling fan....get it? i was a bank robber.

friday
to celebrate his birthday, colby had his two best buds come for a sleepover.

saturday
our family went to a farm about 45 minutes away where there were a lot of activities for the kids. the draw is a corn maze, which was pretty cool, but not necessarily captured well in a picture. i liked this one though, with the colorado river in the background. they were picking out some pumpkins to bring home.

mollys birthday is friday, and allen is doing another wedding on saturday, so we have a repeat busy week!!! after that things slow down for a week or two before the holiday season hits.
