threesixfive,days 9 thru 15

week 2 and going strong!
there are quite a few days this week where i'm having trouble deciding which picture to use; we've been busy!

day 9
this is brutus, my parents' dog. they've had him since he was a puppy and hes lived 15 (i think) good long years. hes really had a rough few months and a very quick decline this last week or so. mom called me saturday to tell me that they were going to have to have him put down monday morning, so i took the kids over sunday evening so we could say good bye to him. pretty sad, but we know its the best thing.

day 10
i go grocery shopping every monday, and this week was no different. however, my grocery store recently added curbside service and it was cold and drizzly enough this week that i took advantage of it!!

day 11
the kids had dentist appts this morning. colby was a champ. molly, not so much.

day 12
meet the newest member of the family; fred. some people in our church found him in one of their plants and brought him to us. allen went to the pet store and bought him some crickets. so far so good.

day 13
we woke up wednesday morning to find that one of my clothes rods had fallen off the wall in the middle of the night. our friend brandon came over thursday to help allen fix it, after which i got rid of some of the weight. ;-) brandon is a stay at home dad, so in order for him to hlp allen i had to watch his two boys, jaxon (4) and cannon (4 months). i got my baby fix!

day 14
allen left friday to go speak at an event in east texas, so my parents came over and hung out. mom and the kids put together some 'homeless bags' to keep in the car and hand out. we really want to be proactive this year about giving them opportunities to serve others.

day 15
today the kids went to their friends adlers birthday party. we got to take a tour of a fire station. the kids had a great time.

i dont know how the weather is where youre at, but its been cold and rainy here for a couple days. i wish we could just hole up and stay in our jammies, but life must go on.
stay warm and dry and have a blessed week!!

Adorable! I usually get my baby fix from my good friend Keona. Her "baby" is almost 2 now. He's enough to remind me why I stopped at 2! :-)
So glad you stopped by my blog. Thank you for the comment. :-)

I love your idea of 'homeless bags" to give out,,,very productive. Never thought about that, but it's really a good way to minister to others. Thanks!

I love that you make up homeless bags to give out!! what a great way to help your kids learn to serve and learn that you don't have to "go" anywhere to do it!!!

now a frog is an interesting pet!!

Cold here in Alabama....we still have snow and ice on the sides of the roads and in places where it is shady. Love the fireman birthday pictures. My husband is a volunteer fightfighter....and he says it was what he wanted to be when he grew up....little boys never grow up...only their bodies do.

A great week of photos! Looks like a very fun b-day party -- what a great idea to tour the fire station. Good idea with the 'homeless' bags too. When we lived in Uganda we kept packs of soap in the car to hand out to the street kids, and when we could we'd make sandwiches to give them.

Wouldn't mind some of your cooling rain right now. It was 90ยบ at 7 am -- UGH. I have a fan turned directly on me and I'm still
sweating.

Have a great week!

Curbside service? I've never heard of that...probably a good thing. :)

A frog? Hmm...well there are worse things, for sure.

Love the idea of the homeless bags. I think I'd be afraid to offend someone but I'm sure you have a system worked out for that.

Its good to see whats going on in your world again..The kids have gotten so big!

Well Fred is a cutie. We have frogs that live in our yard - I guess they hibernate in the winter?

You know, I complain about the snow, but frankly I like it better than cold rain - so I guess I'm happier with my weather than yours :)

Curb service, huh? Which one are you going to - I need to shop at that one!

Besides what is pictured, what all do you put in your bags? What do you use for your bag? Been thinking about it, too.

Are you coming back to Bible study this spring?

See you soon!

The weather here has been cold and foggy. But it is perfect weather to cozy up together on the couch in!

I like the homeless bags idea, we just may have to steal that one.

Good luck keeping Fred alive.

Great welcome photo for Fred.
But, hey, the name Brutus is taken, that's our cat!
How does curbside groceries work?
Way to bless the homeless!
Have a great week!

Sorry to hear about brutus. Always sad to lose a pet.

Fred looks fun! My kids would love to have a pet frog. We had friends who had tadpoles, but only one made it to "froggy" and then didn't last too long. Hopefully, they'll get to enjoy Fred for a quite a while.

Have a great week! Thanks for stopping by.

Can you tell me a little bit more about your homeless bags? It sounds intriguing and a special way to shelter others.

I don't have any children so I get my "children" fix from all my nieces & nephews! They range in age from one year up to twenty years! I love it!

Giving out bags to the homeless is a loving way to let them know someone cares. Great idea.
